The Cerro Pan de Azúcar has a height of 423 mts. and it is the highest point of the hills that approach the coast in the department of Maldonado. In the top a armed cement cross is located, of 35 mts. of height, devised by Juán Zorrilla de San Martín in 1933. In slopes of the Pan de Azúcar a zoological activity is developed that was originated in 1980 with the creation of the Station of Young of Native Fauna on the part of Municipal Intendance of Maldonado.
